American Idol 2012:Songs I Would Like to Hear the Top 8 Sing

I am an American Idol geek.  About the time the top 12 appear, I am a die-hard fan,  rarely missing an episode.  I vote every week and publish my vote on Facebook.  I yell ” No!”  at the T.V. screen when a favorite goes home and cry as they say goodbye.  Two weeks later, I am still listening to my favorite songs of the season on “YouTube.  And  one of my stations on Pandora is “American Idol Finalists” so I can hear past winners and finalists.  I would love to see the top 10 tour in Atlanta(Aug. 5th).  Tickets are in the $70-$100 range.

My favorite contestants this season:  Elise Testone, DeAndre Brackensick, Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet.  I also would like to hear more country from Skylar Laine and contemporary Christian from Colton Dixon.  out of an immensely talented group my favorite is Joshua Ledet.

That said, here is a list of songs I wished we had heard the top 8 sing.  Admittedly, they are old songs, but these talented vocalists could update and personalize them.   let me know what you think of these choices and what you would choose.  If you’re not familiar with these songs-there’s always YouTube.

Phillip Phillips- Woman Tonight

Jessica Sanchez- The Lord’s Prayer

Joshua Ledet- Blues in the Night

Hollie Cavanagh- Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me

Skylar Laine-Something to Talk About

Elise Testone- Legend in Your Own Time

Coton Dixon- How Great is Our God

DeAndre Brackensick- Sara Smile
