Good Quote 5-15-15

Patriotism

“One drop of blood drawn from thy country’s bosom

Should grieve thee more than streams of foreign gore,

Return thee therefore with a flood of tears,

And wash away thy country’s stained spots.”

William Shakespeare, Henry VI, Part 1 (Joan of Arc)

Joan of Arc was persuading the Duke of Burgundy to return to fight for his own country and not their enemy.  He had chosen to fight for England to gain personal wealth and political gain.
